Quercetin is an angioprotector used in complex treatment: to prevent erosive-ulcerative lesions of the upper digestive tract caused by taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs; local radiation injuries after X-ray and gamma radiation therapy and their prevention; periodontitis, erosive-ulcerative diseases of the oral mucosa; purulent-inflammatory diseases of soft tissues; climacteric, vertebral pain syndrome, neuroreflex manifestations of spinal osteochondrosis; chronic glomerulonephritis;neurocirculatory dystonia, ischemic heart disease, angina pectoris of functional class II-III.

Quercetin is an angioprotector used in complex treatment:

  • to prevent erosive-ulcerative lesions of the upper digestive tract caused by taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs;
  • local radiation injuries after X-ray and gamma radiation therapy and their prevention;
  • periodontitis, erosive-ulcerative diseases of the oral mucosa;
  • purulent-inflammatory diseases of soft tissues;
  • climacteric, vertebral pain syndrome, neuroreflex manifestations of spinal osteochondrosis;
  • chronic glomerulonephritis;
  • neurocirculatory dystonia, ischemic heart disease, angina pectoris of functional class II-III.

Composition

  • active ingredient: quercetin;
  • 1 g of the drug contains quercetin (calculated on 100% dry matter) – 0.04 g;
  • excipients: apple pectin, glucose monohydrate, sugar.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to quercetin and other components of the drug, as well as to drugs with P-vitamin activity.

Method of application

Quercetin granules are prescribed for both topical and internal use in adults and children over 12 years of age.

For topical application: dissolve 2 g of quercetin granules in 10 ml of water at a temperature of 45-50 ºC, insist until a homogeneous viscous mass (gel) is formed.

For internal use: dissolve 1 g (1/2 teaspoon) of quercetin granules in 100 ml of warm water.

For periodontal disease and erosive-ulcerative diseases of the oral mucosa, apply one gel application daily, which should be previously applied to a sterile napkin.

In the complex therapy of purulent-inflammatory diseases of soft tissues, quercetin should be prescribed locally and internally in the indicated doses: locally – gel applications with 2 g of quercetin granules 2 times a day, internally – 1 g (1/2 teaspoon) of granules of the drug 2 times a day.

For the prevention and treatment of local lesions in radiation sickness, the drug is prescribed: locally – apply gel applications to damaged areas of the body 2-3 times a day; orally – 1 g of quercetin granules 3-4 times a day 30 minutes before meals.

Patients living in areas contaminated with radionuclides should be prescribed quercetin orally, 1 g (1/2 teaspoon) of granules 2 times a day, 30 minutes before meals.

In the complex treatment of neuroreflex manifestations of spinal osteochondrosis, chronic glomerulonephritis, ischemic heart disease, as well as to prevent the ulcerogenic effect of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, the drug is prescribed orally at a dose of 1 g 3 times a day. When used together with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, adults should use quercetin orally at a dose of 2 g 3 times a day.

For neurocirculatory dystonia, the drug is prescribed orally at a dose of 2 g of quercetin granules 2 times a day for a month.

In the complex treatment of climacteric, vertebral pain syndrome, include taking quercetin granules orally, 1 g 3 times a day. The treatment period is 6 months.

Application features

Since the drug contains sugar and glucose, patients with hereditary intolerance to fructose, glucose-galactose, sucrose-isomaltose should not use the drug.

Quercetin should be used with caution in patients who wear removable dentures.

The drug should be used with caution in patients with diabetes.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding

It is not recommended to use the drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If it is necessary to prescribe the drug, breastfeeding should be discontinued for the period of treatment.

Children

There is no experience with the use of quercetin in children under 12 years of age, so it is not recommended to use the drug in this age group.

Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms

No effect.

Overdose

There is no information on overdose with quercetin. It is possible that side effects may be exacerbated.

Treatment is symptomatic.

Adverse reactions

The following may occur: headache, tingling sensation in the extremities, nausea, hypersensitivity reactions, including rash, itching.
