Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to any component of the medicinal product, including amide local anesthetics.
Adverse reactions
Rare side effects reported during treatment are local reactions such as burning, pain, rash, and itching that may spread beyond the application site. In addition to these unwanted effects, the administration of Procto-Glyvenol rectal cream may very rarely cause an anaphylactic reaction, including symptoms such as angioedema and facial swelling.
Method of application
Apply rectally to adults.
Rectal cream is administered in the morning and evening until acute symptoms disappear. After that, you can use the cream once a day. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor depending on the severity of the disease.
In the case of internal hemorrhoids, the cream should be administered using a nozzle that is included separately in the package and is screwed onto the tube. The nozzle is covered with a protective cap, which must be removed before each use of the cream.
30 g of cream (1 tube) is enough for about 20-30 injections.
Features of application
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
No controlled studies have been conducted on the potential effects of tribenoside and lidocaine in pregnant or lactating women. As a precaution, Procto-Glivenol rectal cream should not be used during the first trimester of pregnancy.
The medicine can be used from the 4th month of pregnancy and to women who are breast-feeding, observing the recommended dosage, taking into account the possible risk for both the mother and the child.
Children
Do not use in children, as there are no data on the use of the drug in this age group.
The ability to influence the speed of reaction when driving vehicles or other mechanisms
The use of Procto-Glivenol does not affect or slightly affects the ability to drive vehicles or work with other mechanisms.
Overdose
There is no data on overdose of Procto-Glyvenol. An overdose is not expected if the drug is used according to the dosage scheme.
During studies on animals, with lidocaine overdose, effects on the central nervous and cardiovascular systems were noted.
In case of accidental ingestion of the medicinal product, it is necessary to quickly wash the stomach and consult a doctor. There is no specific antidote to lidocaine.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions
Patients receiving class 1 antiarrhythmic drugs (eg, tocainide, mexiletine) or other local anesthetics should use the drug with caution, as there is a risk of cumulative systemic effects due to the presence of lidocaine. Monoamine oxidase inhibitors enhance the local analgesic effect of lidocaine.
