Permethrin Spray 0.5% is a powerful insecticide designed to provide effective protection against a wide range of pests, including lice, bed bugs, fleas, and ticks. This highly concentrated formula is specifically designed for use on clothing, bedding, and outdoor gear, ensuring long-lasting defense against unwanted insects.
Spray “Permethrin” is used for pediculosis (head, pubic).
The active substance is permethrin (1 g of the drug contains 5 mg of permethrin).
Excipients: ethonium, benzalkonium chloride, ethanol (96%), purified water.
The use of “Permethrin” spray is not recommended for patients with bronchial asthma, obstructive bronchitis, including in the anamnesis, due to the risk of bronchospasm when inhaling the medicinal product.
Externally. Press the spray head and spray the “Permethrin” spray on the hair, rubbing it into the roots of the hair. When spraying the spray, the edge of the sprayer must be kept at a distance of 3 cm from the hair.
After treatment with “Permethrin” spray, leave it on the hair for 10-40 minutes (the head can be covered with a scarf), then wash thoroughly with warm running water with soap or shampoo and dry naturally. After washing hair, comb with a thick comb to remove dead parasites; if live lice are detected, repeat the treatment before the next hair wash or after 7 days.
Consumption of “Permethrin” spray, depending on the thickness and length of the hair – from 10 ml to 60 ml.
For pubic pediculosis, spray the spray with short presses on the spray head until the entire hairy part of the pubic area is completely covered.
After 30 minutes, wash the treated areas with soap and rinse thoroughly with water.
Studies on the safety of using Permethrin spray during pregnancy or breastfeeding have not been conducted, that is, the drug should not be used during this period.
The ability to influence the speed of reaction when driving a motor vehicle or other mechanisms has not yet been established.
In case of an overdose, an increase in the symptoms indicated in the “Side effects” section is possible. In case of overdose, it is necessary to stop using this spray, wash the skin with plenty of warm water, it is also possible to use antihistamines. In case of poisoning by inhaling the vapors of “Permethrin” spray, the treatment must begin with removing the patient to fresh air. If this drug gets in the eyes or on the skin, the affected areas should be washed with a sufficient amount of water.
In case of accidental use of “Permethrin” spray internally, there is a high probability of spontaneous vomiting, therefore further use of emetics is not recommended due to the risk of rapid development of convulsions and coma. Absorption of Permethrin spray can be prevented by washing the stomach and taking activated charcoal or a laxative. Treatment is primarily supportive and includes monitoring the patient for the appearance of allergic reactions.
From the side of the immune system: allergic reactions, including skin rashes and swelling.
Local effects: burning sensation, tingling or pinching, numbness of the skin, increased itching, erythema, pain, eczema.
Store at a temperature no higher than 25 °C, in a place inaccessible to children. Protect from falls, shocks, exposure to direct sunlight.
Shelf life – 3 years.
