Pharmacological properties
Emoxipine (3-hydroxy-6-methyl-2-ethylpyridine hydrochloride) has anti-inflammatory, thrombolytic and regenerating effects. In addition, it has a direct anticoagulant effect, reduces blood viscosity, reduces vascular wall permeability, normalizes microcirculation, and improves the functional state of ischemic tissues.
The ointment base – propylene glycol ensures the penetration of emoxipin into the depth of the superficial vessels. The maximum release of the active substance begins 30 minutes after applying the ointment, reaching a maximum concentration after 1.5 hours, which persists for 6-8 hours.
Indication
It is prescribed to patients with acute thrombophlebitis of superficial veins, acute anorectal thrombosis, and post-injection phlebitis.
Application
Externally, apply to the skin of the affected area with a thin layer (0.1 g / cm2) 3 times a day. For anorectal thrombosis, 1-3 g of ointment is applied 2 times a day. The duration of the course of treatment is 5-10 days.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to emoxipin.
Side effects
When applying the ointment to the skin, a slight burning sensation may occur, which disappears after 2-3 minutes. Allergic reactions are possible.
Special instructions
In the presence of open lesions, the ointment is applied only to the surrounding tissues.
Interactions
It is not recommended to combine with solutions of heavy metal salts to prevent the formation of poorly soluble complexes.
Storage conditions
