Pharmacological properties

ATP-long is a drug of a new class of substances, the molecule of which consists of adenosine-5′-triphosphate (ATP), the amino acid histidine and salts of magnesium and potassium, and also has a pharmacological effect characteristic only for it, which is absent in any of its other chemical components. ATP-long stimulates energy metabolism, the activity of ion transport systems of cell membranes, normalizes the concentration of potassium and magnesium ions, improves the antioxidant system of myocardial protection, and reduces the concentration of uric acid. ATP-long exhibits anti-ischemic, membrane-stabilizing, antiarrhythmic effects due to the normalization of metabolic processes in the myocardium during ischemia and hypoxia, improves central and peripheral hemodynamics, coronary circulation, increases myocardial contractility, left ventricular function and cardiac output, which leads to improved physical performance, reduced frequency of angina attacks and shortness of breath during exercise. The drug restores normal sinus rhythm in patients with paroxysmal supraventricular and supraventricular tachycardia, with atrial fibrillation and flutter, and also reduces the activity of ectopic sources (atrial and ventricular extrasystoles).

Indication

The drug is prescribed in complex treatment:

  • coronary artery disease, unstable angina, angina at rest and exertion;
  • post-infarction and myocardial cardiosclerosis (diffuse and focal cardiosclerosis);
  • paroxysmal supraventricular and supraventricular tachycardia and other rhythm disturbances;
  • vegetovascular dystonia;
  • myocardial dystrophy;
  • chronic fatigue syndrome;
  • hyperuricemia of various origins;
  • myocarditis;
  • in order to increase tolerance to physical exertion.

Application

ATP-long tablets are taken sublingually and kept under the tongue until completely dissolved. Single dose – 10-40 mg 3-4 times a day, regardless of meals. Treatment course – an average of 20-30 days (determined by the doctor). If necessary, the treatment course is repeated after 10-15 days. Maximum daily dose – 160 mg.

Contraindication

  • Hypersensitivity to the drug and its components; acute myocardial infarction; cardiogenic and other types of shock; obstructive diseases of the bronchopulmonary system; severe forms of BA; AV block II-III degree; hyperkalemia, hypermagnesemia; hemorrhagic stroke.

Side effects

This may mean nausea, discomfort in the epigastrium, allergic reactions (including skin rash, itching, angioedema).

Also possible are a decrease in blood pressure, headache, tachycardia, increased diuresis, facial flushing, feeling of heat, dizziness, discomfort in the chest, increased motility of the digestive tract, and bronchospasm.

With prolonged and uncontrolled use – hyperkalemia or hypermagnesemia.

Special instructions

Do not use:

  • when AV blockade is combined with other rhythm disturbances;
  • with severe arterial hypotension;
  • with cardiac glycosides due to an increased risk of AV block.

With prolonged use, it is necessary to monitor the level of potassium and magnesium in the blood. It is prescribed with caution in cases of a tendency to bronchospasm.

It should be taken into account that the tablets contain small amounts of sucrose and lactose, therefore the drug is not used in patients with rare hereditary forms of galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome.

You should also limit the consumption of products containing caffeine (coffee, tea, cola drinks).

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Use during pregnancy is contraindicated. Breastfeeding should be discontinued for the period of treatment.

Children. Not used for treatment in children.

Ability to influence the reaction rate when driving vehicles or operating machinery. If dizziness or a decrease in blood pressure occurs during treatment with the drug, you should refrain from driving vehicles and operating machinery.

Interactions

Cardiac glycosides: increased risk of AV block.

Potassium-sparing diuretics, potassium supplements and ACE inhibitors: increased risk of hyperkalemia.

Magnerot and other magnesium preparations: hypermagnesemia.

Dipyridamole enhances the therapeutic effect of the drug ATP-Long.

Xanthinol nicotinate, caffeine, theophylline, aminophylline: reduce the severity of the therapeutic effect of the drug ATP-Long.

ATP-Long may enhance the antianginal effect of β-adrenergic blockers, calcium channel blockers, and nitrates.

Overdose

Bradycardia, AV block, hypotension, and syncope may develop.

Treatment: Discontinue the drug and begin symptomatic therapy. In case of bradycardia, administer atropine sulfate.

Storage conditions

In a dry place, protected from light, at a temperature of 3-5 °C.
