Complex tincture Cardiophyt is indicated for vegetative-vascular dystonia, cardioneurosis. As part of the complex treatment of ischemic heart disease (tension angina pectoris class I-II), hypertension (stage I-II), paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia.

Composition

Active ingredients: 1 ml of complex tincture (1:10) consists of:

  • spring adonis herb (herba Adonidis vernalis) – 7 mg;
  • fruits of amorpha shrub (fructus Amorphae) – 7 mg;
  • hawthorn flowers (flores Crataegi) – 7 mg;
  • black elderberry flowers (flores Sambuci nigrae) – 7 mg;
  • rhizomes with valerian roots (rhizomata cum radicibus Valerianae) – 10.5 mg;
  • sweet clover herb (herba Meliloti) – 7 mg;
  • horse chestnut seeds (semina Hippocastani) – 10.5 mg;
  • nettle leaves (folia Urticae) – 3.5 mg;
  • lily of the valley leaves and flowers (folia et flores Convallariae) – 7 mg;
  • peppermint leaves (folia Menthae piperitae) – 7 mg;
  • licorice roots (radices Glycyrrhizae) – 7 mg;
  • motherwort herb (herba Leonuri) – 7 mg;
  • white mistletoe leaves (folia Visci albi) – 5.5 mg;
  • thyme herb (herba Serpylli) – 7 mg;

Excipients: none, except for the extractant – ethanol 40%.

Contraindication

  • Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug or other plants of the Lamiaceae family, as well as known allergy to celery and birch pollen (cross-reaction is possible).
  • Gastric and duodenal ulcers, cholestatic disorders, severe liver and kidney diseases, depression, arterial hypotension, bradycardia, acute myocarditis, endocarditis, pericarditis, increased blood clotting.
  • History of alcoholism.
  • Simultaneous use of drugs containing ethyl alcohol, neuroleptics, tranquilizers; consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Method of application

Shake before use. Adults should take 1 teaspoon (5 ml) 2-3 times a day 30 minutes before or 1 hour after meals. In acute forms of the disease, stressful situations, the dose can be increased by 2 times. The drug can be diluted with water in a ratio of 1: 3 or 1: 5. The duration of use and the frequency of courses are determined by the doctor depending on the severity of the disease and the achieved treatment effect.

During the period of use of the drug, one should refrain from potentially hazardous activities that require increased attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (driving vehicles and working with complex mechanisms).

Overdose

Overdose is accompanied by acute alcohol poisoning, the symptoms of which are similar to those of ethyl alcohol poisoning. At a blood alcohol concentration of 3-4 g/l (300-400 mg/%) severe intoxication develops.

Also, in case of overdose, a decrease in blood pressure, headache, dizziness, gastrointestinal disorders, and increased manifestations of adverse reactions are possible.

Treatment: gastric lavage, use of adsorbents, symptomatic therapy.

With prolonged use in high doses, disturbances in water and electrolyte balance are possible.

Side effects

The drug is usually well tolerated by patients. However, given the multicomponent composition of the drug, in some cases, as a rule, with individual hypersensitivity to any component of the drug or violation of the recommended regimen of its administration, the development of allergic reactions is very rarely possible, including hyperemia, itching, rashes, including small-spotted, urticaria, angioedema; gastrointestinal disorders, including nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea; bradycardia.

Interaction

The drug may enhance the effects of antianginal, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedative, hypnotic, analgesic, antispasmodic agents, cardiac glycosides, neuroleptics, tranquilizers, direct and indirect anticoagulants.

With prolonged use simultaneously with cardiac glycosides, antiarrhythmic drugs (quinidine), adrenocorticosteroids, thiazide and loop diuretics or laxatives, water and electrolyte balance disorders are possible.

The simultaneous use of the drug with aminoglycoside antibiotics should be avoided due to increased nephrotoxic effects of aminoglycosides.
