Pharmacological Properties

Pharmacodynamics: The pharmacological properties of Dermazole cream are determined by the active ingredient ketoconazole, which exhibits antifungal and fungistatic activity against dermatophytes (Epidermophyton spp., Microsporum spp., Trichophyton spp.), yeasts, and yeast-like fungi (Candida spp., Malassezia furfur).

Pharmacokinetics: Ketoconazole is well absorbed into the affected skin areas. When applied topically, systemic absorption is minimal and does not cause systemic effects.

Indications of Dermazol Cream

Treatment of fungal skin infections, including:

  • Dandruff
  • Seborrheic dermatitis
  • Localized tinea versicolor

Dosage and Administration

Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected skin area 1–2 times daily, gently rubbing in until fully absorbed. Continue treatment for the duration recommended by your physician, even after symptoms disappear.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to ketoconazole or any other component of the cream.

Side Effects of Dermazol Cream

  • Skin and subcutaneous tissue: erythema, burning sensation, itching, rash, contact dermatitis, irritation.
  • Hair and nails: alopecia, hair texture changes, changes in hair color (especially in chemically treated or gray hair).
  • Immune system: hypersensitivity reactions, including rare anaphylactoid reactions.

Special Precautions

  • For external use only.
  • Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Rinse thoroughly with water if contact occurs.
  • Use during pregnancy and lactation only if expected benefit outweighs potential risk.
  • Children: safety and efficacy not established for children under 12 years.

Interactions

Due to minimal systemic absorption, significant interactions with other drugs are unlikely.

Overdose

Overdose is unlikely due to topical application. In case of accidental ingestion, provide supportive and symptomatic treatment. Do not induce vomiting or perform gastric lavage to prevent aspiration.

Storage Conditions

Store at temperatures not exceeding 25 °C in the original packaging, out of reach of children.
