Esphatil gel is used for the local treatment of acute and chronic venous insufficiency: varicose veins, superficial phlebitis and thrombophlebitis, hematomas and edema after bruises and sprains.
Composition
1 g contains (active ingredients): β-escin, calculated as 100% substance – 10 mg.
- heparin sodium, calculated as heparin with an activity of 133 IU / mg – 0.75 mg (10,000 IU);
- Epicuron 130 R, calculated on dry matter – 10 mg.
Excipients: isopropyl alcohol, methylparaben (methyl parahydroxybenzoate) (E 218), propylparaben (propyl parahydroxybenzoate) (E 216), carbomer, glycerin, 15% ammonia solution, lavender oil, purified water.
Contraindication
- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
- trophic ulcers, bleeding legs, open and/or infected wounds, hemorrhagic diathesis, purpura, thrombocytopenia, hemophilia, bleeding tendency;
- childhood.
Method of application
Applied externally to adults.
The gel is applied in a thin layer to the swollen and painful areas 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is 14 days.
Application features
Pregnant women
During pregnancy or breastfeeding, the drug can only be used for a short time, as prescribed by a doctor and under justified indications, if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child.
Children
The safety and effectiveness of the drug in children have not been studied.
Drivers
The gel does not affect the reaction speed when driving or using other mechanisms.
Overdose
Symptoms of overdose have not been established.
Side effects
As a rule, it is well tolerated.
Local intolerance may occur in the form of minor itching, redness, burning, skin rashes, contact dermatitis, urticaria, angioedema, hemorrhages. When applying the gel to large areas of the skin, systemic adverse reactions are possible.
The use of the drug may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed) due to the presence of excipients such as methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218) and propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216).
Storage conditions
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, out of the reach of children.
