Femivag is a gelatinous vaginal capsule that contains strains of live lactic acid bacteria Lactobacillus gasseri (L. gasseri) and Lactobacillus rhamnosus (L. rhamnosus) that helps in the treatment of mild and moderate bacterial vaginosis.
Vaginal capsules “Femivag” are used for the following indications:
- prevention and treatment of imbalance of vaginal bacterial flora, symptoms of which are itching, dryness, discharge, irritation, unpleasant odor;
- treatment of mild and moderate BV;
- protection and restoration of the natural balance of vaginal microflora after treatment with antimicrobial agents.
Composition
Active ingredients: strains of live lactic acid bacteria Lactobacillus gasseri (L. gasseri), Lactobacillus rhamnosus (L. rhamnosus). One vaginal capsule contains at least 10 8 CFU of L. gasseri and at least 10 8 CFU of L. rhamnosus.
Excipients: lactate monohydrate (E 966), corn starch, xanthan gum, anhydrous glucose, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide (E 171), gelatin.
Contraindication
The use of the drug is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any other components of the drug.
Method of application
Treatment: One vaginal capsule is inserted deep into the vagina every evening before bedtime for 6-8 days.
Prevention: immediately after the end of menstruation, one vaginal capsule is inserted deep into the vagina every evening before bedtime for 4-6 days; after antibiotic treatment, one vaginal capsule is inserted deep into the vagina every evening before bedtime for 6-8 days.
Application features
Pregnant women
The drug “Femivag” can be used during pregnancy (for example, for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis in pregnant women) and breastfeeding.
Children
The drug should not be used to treat children under 12 years of age.
Drivers
The drug does not affect the reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms.
Side effects
There are isolated reports of allergic reactions associated with the use of the drug.
Storage conditions
Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, out of the reach of children.
Shelf life – 2 years.
