Laneira is a dietary supplement that may be used as an additional source of nutrients such as alpha-lipoic acid, acetyl L-carnitine, nervonic acid, bilberry extract, vitamin B3, zinc, vitamin B6, selenium, and vitamin B12.

Active Components

• Alpha-lipoic acid — as a cofactor of mitochondrial multi-enzyme complexes, participates in oxidative decarboxylation of pyruvic acid and α-keto acids. It helps lower blood glucose and combat insulin resistance, participates in regulation of lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, stimulates cholesterol turnover, and improves endoneural blood flow. It increases glutathione levels, which normalizes function of nerves affected by diabetic processes due to its antioxidant properties.
• Acetyl L-carnitine — involved in fatty acid and carbohydrate metabolism; protects brain tissue from ischemia by supporting cellular energy. It has antioxidant, membrane-stabilizing and neuroprotective effects, particularly on neurons and their organelles (mitochondria). It modulates nerve growth factor activity and exerts cholinomimetic effects owing to structural similarity to acetylcholine. It improves nerve cell regeneration in peripheral nerve injuries, partly by stimulating phospholipid synthesis for membrane formation.
• Nervonic acid — a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid involved in myelin sheath formation during brain growth and development and supports cognitive function. It participates in synthesis of sphingolipid esters (such as gangliosides and cerebrosides) and sphingomyelin.
• Zinc — involved in nerve impulse conduction, improves metabolism and action of certain vitamins, is a component of many metalloproteases important for DNA synthesis, and stabilizes insulin structure.
• Bilberry dry extract (Vaccinium myrtillus) — provides antioxidant protection, improves peripheral and venous microcirculation, and contributes to normalization of vascular tone.
• Vitamins B3, B6, B12 — B-group vitamins act as cofactors in the nervous system. They participate in energy production, amino acid metabolism, and neurotransmitter synthesis (dopamine, serotonin, GABA, norepinephrine) and melatonin; they are important for myelin formation and repair, relevant for nerve regeneration after injury.
• Selenium — a trace element with antioxidant properties; part of proteins involved in antioxidant defense against oxidative stress associated with some neurological disorders.

Indications

The active components of Laneira support endogenous regenerative processes and improve the condition of the central and autonomic nervous systems in the following conditions:

• Neuropathies of various etiologies, including alcoholic and diabetic neuropathy;
• Radiculopathies with root syndrome;
• Peripheral neuropathic pain and neuralgia;
• Diabetes mellitus and manifestations of metabolic disorders: metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, reduced glucose tolerance;
• Astenia.

Special Precautions

During pregnancy or breastfeeding, consult a physician before use. In rare cases, additional glycemic monitoring may be required because alpha-lipoic acid and acetyl L-carnitine can potentiate the effects of insulin and oral hypoglycemic agents.

Dosage and Administration

Adults: take 1–2 tablets per day with meals. Swallow the tablet and drink ½ glass of water. Consult a physician before use. Duration of intake is determined individually.

This dietary supplement should not be used as a substitute for a complete and balanced diet. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

Store in the original packaging at temperatures not exceeding 25 °C, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
