Meralys spray nasal solution 0.1% bottle with dosing device 10 ml

Xylometazoline. Has an alpha-adrenomimetic effect: causes narrowing of the blood vessels of the nasal mucosa, thus eliminating swelling and hyperemia of the nasopharyngeal mucosa. Facilitates nasal breathing in rhinitis. In therapeutic concentrations, it does not irritate the mucosa, does not cause hyperemia. The effect occurs a few minutes after application and lasts for 12 hours. The drug is well tolerated, including by patients with sensitive mucous membranes.

Unlike other vasoconstrictors, Meralys contains sea water in addition to xylometazoline.

In case of nasal congestion, vasoconstrictor drugs help reduce swelling and normalize nasal breathing. However, prolonged use of traditional vasoconstrictors or increasing the frequency of their use is fraught with complications: the appearance of dryness and irritation of the mucous membrane, the appearance of microcracks, slowing down the work of the “cilia” of the ciliated epithelium, which are normally in constant motion, moving the mucus layer, bacteria and viruses towards the nasopharynx.

To mitigate such effects, menthol or eucalyptus are added to some cold preparations, which have a distracting cooling effect. However, such remedies bring only subjective improvement, do not provide full protection of the mucous membrane and do not affect the production and movement of nasal mucus.

Sea water not only restores and protects the mucous membrane, but also helps maintain its normal physiological state. Minerals and trace elements that make up sea water (zinc, selenium, magnesium, calcium, iodine, etc.) activate the work of the ciliated epithelium and normalize the formation of nasal mucus. As a result, mucus containing bacteria and viruses does not stagnate in the nasal passages, but is removed, along with foreign substances contained in it. Removing microorganisms from the surface of the mucous membrane reduces the risk of inflammation and its spread to neighboring organs – into the middle ear cavity and additional sinuses, anatomically closely connected with the nasal cavity.

The effectiveness of Meralys is determined by the vasoconstrictor effect of xylometazoline and the healing power of natural sea water.

Thanks to its combined composition, Meralys:

A special nozzle on the bottle of the drug allows the solution to remain sterile without adding preservatives, which additionally ensures a high safety profile. Also, the absence of preservatives in the composition of the drug ensures the preservation of the ciliated epithelium of the nasal mucosa.

• Symptomatic treatment of nasal congestion due to colds, hay fever, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis.
• To facilitate the outflow of secretions in diseases of the paranasal sinuses.
• Adjunctive therapy in cases of otitis media (to eliminate swelling of the mucous membrane).
• To facilitate rhinoscopy.

• Hypersensitivity to xylometazoline or other components of the drug: dryness of the nasal mucosa with the formation of crusts (dry rhinitis);
• Transsphenoidal hypophysectomy and surgical interventions with exposure of the meninges in history.

Before using the drug, you should thoroughly clean your nose.

Adults and children over 12 years of age: Meralys 0.1% nasal spray, 1 spray in each nostril 2-3 times a day.

The drug should be used for no more than 5 days, unless the doctor has recommended a different duration of treatment.

The use of Meralis® can be resumed after a break of several days.

Before the first use, it is necessary to spray several times (4 times) into the atmosphere to achieve dose uniformity.

1 ml of Meralys nasal drops contains 1 mg of hydrochloride.
