NASCAR is a hypoallergenic, transparent, quick-drying silicone gel for the treatment of scars of various origins.
NASCAR gel is easily applied to all areas of the skin, including exposed areas such as the face and neck; as well as joints and hairy areas without the need for shaving.
If used as directed, the gel dries quickly to form a thin silicone film. The protective layer, which is gas-permeable and waterproof, moisturizes and protects the scar from chemical and bacterial damage, allowing the scar to normalize its collagen synthesis cycle.
NASCAR Gel softens and smoothes scars, eliminates itching and discomfort, redness and discoloration of scars. NASCAR Gel is used to treat all types of scars, including those resulting from: general surgery, injuries, old wounds, cesarean section, burns, bites, acne and other skin diseases.
The International Clinical Guidelines for Scar Management state that “silicone gel should be used as a first-line therapy in the initial stages of scar treatment and as a prevention of hypertrophic and keloid scars.”
Indications for use
NASCAR gel is used for the prevention and treatment of all types of scars, including keloid and hypertrophic scars. NASCAR can be used in conjunction with other invasive methods to improve the overall result, including surgical excision and suturing, injections and compression bandages. NASCAR gel can be used for the skin of children of any age, women during pregnancy and breastfeeding; for sensitive and allergy-prone skin.
For best results, it is recommended to start using NASCAR as early as possible after the wound epithelialization period. After surgery with suturing, NASCAR is used starting from the 10th day after surgery.
Composition
A mixture of polysiloxanes.
Method of application
Make sure the scar is clean and dry. Apply a thin layer of NASCAR Gel to the scar and allow to dry. Apply the gel to the affected areas of skin once or twice a day, or as directed by your doctor. For best results, ensure that the gel is in constant contact with the scar. When used correctly, the gel will dry completely within 5-7 minutes. If it takes longer to dry completely, you may have applied too much gel. Gently blot any excess gel with a tissue and allow to dry. Once the gel has dried, you can apply sunscreen, makeup, compression bandages or a cast.
How much NASCAR gel is needed?
- 5 g of NASCAR gel is enough to treat a scar measuring 2-3 cm.
- 15 g of NASCAR gel is enough to treat a scar measuring 7-10 cm.
- 50 g of NASCAR gel is enough to treat a scar measuring 6 × 12 cm.
NASCAR is recommended to be used for at least 60-90 days (24/7). For older scars, the duration of use may be longer. Use until no further improvement is observed.
