Salicylic acid is an antiseptic. When applied topically, it has an antimicrobial, irritating, and distracting effect. It is used for infectious skin lesions: common acne, pyoderma.
Warehouse
- 1 ml of solution contains salicylic acid – 20 mg;
- excipients: ethanol 96%, purified water.
Contraindication
Increased individual sensitivity to the drug.
Method of application
It is applied externally, lubricating or rubbing the affected areas of the skin with a cotton swab soaked in the drug 2–3 times a day. The course of treatment is determined by the doctor depending on the course and severity of the disease.
Application features
Do not allow the drug to get into the eyes, do not apply to mucous membranes.
You should not violate the rules for using the medicine – this can harm your health.
The drug should not be applied to large areas of skin.
Pregnant women
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the use of the drug is possible only when the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child.
Children
Do not use in children under 12 years of age.
Drivers
No effect.
Overdose
When using large doses of the drug, the keratolytic effect and allergic reactions may increase. In this case, the drug should be washed off with water and a doctor should be consulted. Therapy is symptomatic.
Side effects
Possible skin changes: dryness, peeling, irritation, contact dermatitis, manifestations of allergic reactions (urticaria, itching), requiring discontinuation of the drug.
With prolonged use, absorption of the drug into the general bloodstream and the development of side effects typical of salicylates are possible: tinnitus, dizziness, epigastric pain, nausea, vomiting, acidosis, rapid breathing.
Storage conditions
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C out of the reach of children.
