Test strips for the Accu-Chek Performa blood glucose meter (50 pcs. per package) are used as an indicator for quantitative determination of glucose levels in fresh venous, arterial and capillary blood taken from a finger.
Features
Accu-Chek Performa test strips can be used for in vitro diagnostics in medical institutions, as well as for self-monitoring of blood glucose levels at home.
How Accu-Chek Performa test strips work:
The Accu-Chek Performa test strip contains a chemical enzyme, a mutant version of the quinoprotein glucose dehydrogenase, which converts glucose in a blood sample into gluconolactone. This reaction produces a harmless direct current electrical signal in the glucometer, which is used to determine blood glucose levels.
Advantages
- Economical packaging allows you to save money and conduct self-control more often;
- The expiration date of the test strips does not depend on the date the tube is opened; the expiration date is indicated on the tube.
- The electrochemical measurement method allows you to get an accurate result in just 5 seconds!
- The use of gold contacts in the test strip device ensures a comprehensive check of the integrity of the test strip, adaptation to fluctuations in humidity and ambient temperature, the sufficiency of the blood sample, and thereby guarantees an accurate self-test result.
- Accu-Chek Performa test strips do not need to be coded. They work with a black chip (Code: 222).
Reservation
High levels of maltose in the blood can lead to an incorrect test result. High levels of maltose in the blood may be seen in patients who:
- Undergo peritoneal dialysis using solutions containing icodextrin (e.g., Extraneal), as maltose is a metabolite of icodextrin.
- Are receiving certain types of type IV immunoglobulin therapy that contain maltose (such as Octagam or Gamimune)
- Type IV solutions containing maltose are administered instead of glucose or as a hydration agent.
Patients receiving these therapies should not use the Accu-Chek Performa meter to test blood glucose during treatment and should discuss alternative testing options with their healthcare provider.
Only three other substances in the blood (galactose, xylose and lipids) can affect the test result obtained with Accu-Chek Performa test strips. No other device from the leading manufacturers has fewer interferences caused by substances present in the blood.
Patients undergoing a xylose tolerance test (D-xylose absorption) should not use Accu-Chek Performa meters to test blood sugar for 24 hours after the test and should discuss alternative testing options with their healthcare provider.
