Pharmacological action:
Vagilac – vaginal capsules containing bacteria beneficial to the vaginal microflora, including lactobacilli.
Vagilac helps to normalize the pH of the vagina, which leads to an increase in the growth of the necessary microflora and a slowdown in the growth of pathogenic bacteria.
Lactic streptococcus creates conditions for the development of lactic acid bacilli (lactobacilli). There is a symbiotic relationship between lactic streptococcus and lactobacilli, which plays a significant role in the formation of normal microflora.
When used intravaginally, the components of the Vagilac preparation are not absorbed into the systemic bloodstream. The colonization ability of lactobacilli in the Vagilac preparation is increased due to the presence of Streptococcus thermophilus in the preparation.
Indications for use:
Vagilac is used for local treatment and prevention of vaginal microflora disorders, including those associated with diseases of bacterial and fungal etiology, as well as diseases caused by protozoa.
Method of application:
Vagilac capsules are intended for intravaginal use. It is recommended to insert the Vagilac capsule deep into the vagina before bedtime in a supine position. It is necessary to carefully observe personal hygiene throughout the entire period of treatment with Vagilac.
The duration of use and the scheme of use of the Vagilac drug are determined by the doctor.
For the treatment of vaginal microflora disorders (caused by acute, chronic and recurrent infectious and inflammatory gynecological diseases), 1 capsule of the Vagilac drug is usually prescribed at night. The use of the Vagilak drug should be started on the 4-5th day after the start of antibiotic therapy.
The duration of the course of use is 10 days.
For the prevention of disorders of the vaginal microflora (including bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis and candidiasis), monotherapy with the drug Vagilac is usually prescribed. From the second half of the menstrual cycle, it is recommended to insert 1 capsule of the drug Vagilac deep into the vagina before bedtime daily.
The duration of the prophylactic course is 5 or 10 days.
If necessary, the doctor may increase the duration of therapy or prescribe repeated courses of treatment with the drug Vagilac.
Side effects:
