Zelenin drops are a medicinal product consisting of tinctures of lily of the valley , valerian and belladonna with menthol . They are used mainly for cardiac neuroses . They were proposed by the clinician V. F. Zelenin.
Belladonna tincture (1:10) – 5 ml, lily of the valley tincture (1:10) – 10 ml, valerian tincture (1:5) – 10 ml, racemic menthol – 0.2 g
Main physicochemical properties: transparent liquid of greenish or yellow-brown color with a characteristic odor.

Pharmacodynamics.
The components of the tinctures reduce the excitability of the central nervous system, have an antispasmodic effect, a slight cardiotonic effect, and increase the heart rate. Valerian acid has a calming effect on the central nervous system. Belladonna tincture blocks M-cholinoreceptors of smooth muscles of internal organs and causes an antispasmodic effect. Menthol, irritating the mucous membrane of the oral cavity, reflexively causes dilation of the coronary vessels.

Zelenin drops reduce the effect of antiarrhythmic drugs prescribed for tachycardia and enhance the effect of drugs recommended for bradyarrhythmia, as well as antispasmodics.
Internally for adults – 20-25 drops 2-3 times a day, diluting with a small amount of water. Children over 12 years old are prescribed at the rate of 1 drop per 1 year of life. The duration of treatment depends on the achieved therapeutic effect and tolerability of the drug.
