Candid topical powder is used for the treatment of fungal skin and mucous membrane infections caused by pathogens sensitive to clotrimazole, including tinea versicolor and erythrasma.

Composition

Active ingredient: clotrimazole;
1 g of powder contains 10 mg of clotrimazole;
Excipients: talc, corn starch, colloidal anhydrous silica, cosmetic fragrance.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to clotrimazole or other components of the preparation. Hypersensitivity to other imidazoles.

Method of administration and dosage

Before use, wash the affected area with neutral pH soap and dry thoroughly. Apply the powder to the prepared area. Adults: apply Candid powder 2–3 times daily to affected areas until symptoms disappear.

  • Dermatophytosis: 3–4 weeks
  • Erythrasma: 2–4 weeks
  • Tinea versicolor: 1–3 weeks

After symptoms disappear, continue treatment for an additional 2 weeks to ensure full efficacy.

Special precautions

Pregnancy

No clinical studies on the effect of clotrimazole on female fertility have been conducted. Animal studies show no effect on fertility. Limited human data; animal studies show no direct or indirect reproductive toxicity. Avoid use in the first trimester as a precaution.

Breastfeeding: treatment should be discontinued during breastfeeding.

Overdose

Acute toxicity is unlikely due to topical use. Accidental oral ingestion may rarely require gastric lavage if a life-threatening dose is ingested within one hour or symptoms appear (dizziness, nausea, vomiting). Gastric lavage should only be performed with airway protection.
