Active Ingredients

Undenatured Type II Collagen UC-II – preserves the 3D structure of the collagen molecule and its active epitopes. Orally administered UC-II reaches Peyer’s patches in the intestine and promotes specialized regulatory T-lymphocytes, producing anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-10, IL-4, TGF-β). These cytokines penetrate synovial fluid through the bloodstream and subchondral bone, reducing inflammation and improving cartilage metabolism.

IL-10 and TGF-β inhibit inflammation and support cartilage matrix synthesis. Daily intake of 40 mg UC-II can relieve joint discomfort and restore healthy joint function and flexibility. Studies show that taking 40 mg UC-II for 90 days may lead to more significant improvements compared to glucosamine (1500 mg/day) and chondroitin (1200 mg/day).

NovaSOL Curcumin Boswellia – patented extract of turmeric rhizome and Boswellia resin. Micellar technology enhances absorption and bioavailability, showing up to 185 times higher bioavailability for curcumin and 56 times higher for Boswellia active components compared to native extracts.

Boswellia Extract – derived from Boswellia serrata resin, a known anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic agent. Key active ingredients include AKBA, 11-keto-β-boswellic acid, α-boswellic acid, β-boswellic acid, acetyl-α-boswellic acid, and acetyl-β-boswellic acid. They inhibit inflammatory enzymes (5-LO, catG, mPGES-1), transcription factor NF-κB, and pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-2, IL-6).

Turmeric Extract – derived from Curcuma longa rhizome, containing curcumin, essential oils, δ-elandrene, zingiberene, sabinene. Curcumin is a well-studied antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound that suppresses pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1, IL-6, TNF-α), NF-κB, COX-2, 5-LO, and iNOS, reducing PGE2 and NO levels.

Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) – regulates calcium-phosphate metabolism, stimulates calcium and phosphate absorption in the intestine, supports kidney reabsorption, parathyroid function, and bone mineralization. Vitamin D3 reduces cartilage erosion and enzyme activity that degrades cartilage and bone collagen (MMP-9, MMP-13), while increasing TGF-β1 levels. Clinical studies show reduced discomfort and improved knee joint function.

Indications

Mercana Active is recommended as a dietary supplement providing undenatured Type II collagen (UC-II), Boswellia acids, curcuminoids, and Vitamin D3 to support joint health, normalize joint function, reduce inflammation, and improve mobility and flexibility, especially during physical activity.

Dosage

Adults: 1 capsule twice daily, 2 hours before or after meals, with a glass of water. Minimum course: 10 days; may repeat if necessary. Under medical supervision, use may continue up to 6 months.
