Pharmacological Properties

A combined preparation containing vitamins, minerals, and plant carotenoids.

Fills vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Exhibits antioxidant activity. The effect of the preparation is determined by the action of the substances included.

Lutein and zeaxanthin are the only carotenoids present directly in the retina (in the macula). Their effects are due to high antioxidant activity and the ability to filter harmful parts of the light spectrum. Lutein and zeaxanthin provide antioxidant, protective, and light-absorbing effects, reducing the risk of age-related visual impairments.

Beta-carotene plays an important role in the synthesis of the visual pigment rhodopsin, supporting eye adaptation to low-light conditions and providing antioxidant activity.

Vitamin C, a water-soluble antioxidant, in combination with vitamin E, protects cells and tissues from the damaging effects of excessive free radicals and lipid peroxidation.

Copper and zinc function as components of numerous metalloenzymes, catalyzing their activity and preventing free radical formation.

Indications

  • Replenishing necessary vitamins and minerals in eye diseases (age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, retinopathies, optic nerve disorders);
  • Prevention of age-related vision disorders and eye diseases in at-risk groups (over 55 years old, diabetes patients, hereditary predisposition to cataracts or retinal degeneration, smokers, light-eyed individuals);
  • Prevention of eye diseases under high visual load (computer work, UV exposure, screen radiation), night vision adaptation issues, and during recovery after ophthalmic surgery.

Administration

Oral use during or after meals. Adults and children over 12 years: 1 tablet once daily for 2–3 months. Maximum daily dose: 1 tablet. Duration is individualized. Repeat courses may be prescribed if necessary after consultation with a physician.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to components, severe renal failure, chronic glomerulonephritis, sarcoidosis, hypervitaminosis A and E, thrombophlebitis, iron or copper metabolism disorders, thyrotoxicosis, concurrent use of retinoids.

Side Effects

In sensitive individuals: allergic reactions (rash, urticaria, anaphylactic shock, angioedema, fever, itching, bronchospasm), headache, dizziness.

No reported side effects from lutein, zeaxanthin, or small doses of vitamin C (up to 2000 mg/day for adults). Copper may cause abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. Long-term high zinc intake can cause copper deficiency. Stop use and consult a physician if any adverse reactions occur.

Special Precautions

  • Maximum carotenoid effect occurs when taken with fats (especially vegetable oils).
  • Do not exceed recommended dose.
  • Contains lactose; avoid in patients with hereditary galactose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, or lactase deficiency.
  • Use cautiously in patients with urolithiasis, heart failure, gallstones, chronic pancreatitis, acute nephritis, or tendency to thrombosis.
  • Not recommended for those with fructose intolerance.
  • Avoid concurrent use with other multivitamins due to potential overdose.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Use only if expected maternal benefit outweighs potential fetal/infant risk.

Children

Not recommended for children under 12 years.

Effect on Ability to Drive and Operate Machinery

No influence.

Interactions

Consider cumulative effects when taken with other vitamin/mineral supplements. Concurrent use of cholestyramine, colestipol, orlistat, and laxatives reduces carotenoid absorption. Vitamin C may enhance sulfonamide effects. Vitamin E absorption may be affected by iron or silver medications.

Overdose

May enhance side effects and cause hypervitaminosis A, C, E, allergic reactions, dyspepsia, epigastric pain, nausea, vomiting, bloating, diarrhea, and nervous excitability. Treatment: activated charcoal, gastric lavage, symptomatic therapy.

Storage Conditions

Store in the original package at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
