Bactoblis + Lacto / Bactoblis + Lacto dietary supplement with sugar and sweetener.

Bactoblis + Lacto (orodispersible tablets) is a respiratory-intestinal probiotic that helps restore a healthy microbiome, both in the oropharynx and in the intestine, thanks to the combination of the respiratory strain Streptococcus salivarius K12 (to improve local protection of the upper respiratory tract) with the intestinal probiotic strain Lactobacillus rhamnosus, LGG s LGG (to prevent diarrhea).

Bactoblis + Lacto is an exclusive formula for simultaneously restoring the microflora of the upper respiratory tract and intestines, which helps reduce the duration of respiratory symptoms (such as a feeling of discomfort in the throat), reduce side effects from the use of antibiotics (such as diarrhea, nausea and stomach discomfort, etc.) and prevent the development of resistance to them.

Active ingredients

Streptococcus salivarius K12 is a strain of beneficial bacteria that was isolated in New Zealand by Professor John Tagg from the oral microflora of a healthy child who had suffered from respiratory diseases much less frequently than other children for several years. Only 2% of children have this strain at birth. Normally, the presence of Streptococcus salivarius makes up up to 40% of the total population of bacteria in a healthy oral cavity.

Streptococcus salivarius K12 colonizes the oral cavity and nasopharynx, actively inhibits the growth of Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae and Moraxella catarrhalis, Staphylococcus aureus, Proteus vulgaris, Proteus spp, Candida albicans, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Streptococcus mutans, Staphylococcus epidermidis, which are among the main etiological factors of bacterial infections of the respiratory tract in children.

The probiotic Streptococcus salivarius K12 produces two antibacterial bacteriocins (salivaricin A2, salivaricin B), which inhibit the growth of infectious agents in the oropharynx.

Streptococcus salivarius K12 plays an important role in restoring beneficial oral microflora and preventing the growth of opportunistic and pathogenic microflora. The K12 strain is excellent for preventing infections of the oral cavity and upper respiratory tract due to its natural ability to actively colonize the human oral cavity and displace pathogenic bacteria.

In 2011, Streptococcus salivarius K12 received GRAS (generally recognized as safe) status from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, allowing the probiotic to be used in food products.

Consuming Streptococcus salivarius K12 helps reduce the duration of fever and inflammatory symptoms in upper respiratory tract infections.

Lactobacillus rhamnosus, LGG is the most researched probiotic strain in the world. Since 1985, over 2,000 scientific publications have been published on Lactobacillus rhamnosus, LGG, including 300 publications on human consumption studies. Lactobacillus rhamnosus, LGG is used worldwide, and has been officially approved as an ingredient in foods and dietary supplements since 1990. This compelling body of documented research demonstrates the benefits and safety of the strain across a range of health and life stages: from birth, children, pregnant women, adults, and the elderly.

Lactobacillus rhamnosus, LGG is associated with immune health and a reduction in the frequency and duration of respiratory discomfort episodes.

Simultaneous use of Lactobacillus rhamnosus, LGG together with antibiotics reduces the number and duration of diarrhea episodes and leads to normalization of stool.

Laboratory studies have shown that the probiotic strain Lactobacillus rhamnosus, LGG has high tolerance to acid and bile, which is important for successful passage through the gastrointestinal tract (GI) with subsequent restoration of the intestinal microbiome. The probiotic strain LGG supports the function of the intestinal immune barrier and the immune system as a whole.

Lactobacillus rhamnosus, LGG is safe for human consumption, having been granted QPS (Qualified Presumption of Safety) status in Europe and GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) status by the US Food and Drug Administration.

Lactobacillus rhamnosus, LGG also ferments lactose to form lactic acid, which has several beneficial effects on gut health. For example, lactic acid can stimulate peristalsis, improving digestion and the movement of food through the GI tract. This can help with constipation or slow peristalsis, and to speed up the release of toxins in some GI disorders.

Vitamin D3 – helps maintain normal immune system function, which contributes to the restoration of the protective functions of the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract and intestines and their normal functioning.

Respiratory tract infections are often caused by bacteria, so antibiotic therapy is the standard treatment. Taking antibiotics negatively affects intestinal health and can lead to diarrhea, impaired ability to digest, absorb, metabolize and/or excrete normal foods and/or certain nutrients contained in them and/or their metabolites due to disruption of the intestinal microflora. However, in addition to the various side effects of antibiotics, such as nausea, cramps and diarrhea, drug-resistant strains of bacteria are becoming an increasing problem for treatment. A multinational study showed that the percentage of multidrug-resistant strains of Streptococcus pneumoniae and beta-lactamase-producing strains of group A β-hemolytic streptococci, Haemophilus influenzae or Moraxella catarrhalis, reached 25% of all identified strains in some countries. Antibiotic resistance of S. pneumoniae and H. influenzae remains a serious problem worldwide.

Indications for use

It can be recommended in the diet as an additional source of probiotics Streptococcus Salivarius K12; Lactobacillus rhamnosus, LGG and vitamin D3 in order to create optimal conditions for:

  • restoration of the microflora of the upper respiratory tract, including the nasopharynx, oropharynx and intestines after a course of antibiotics;
  • reducing the manifestations of antibiotic-associated diarrhea (including when the ability to digest and metabolize food is impaired) and restoring the intestinal microbiome after taking antibiotics under the influence of colonization with the beneficial probiotic strain Lactobacillus rhamnosus, LGG;
  • prevention of relapses and re-infection of the upper respiratory tract;
  • reducing the number of cases of antibiotic and antipyretic drugs used to combat upper respiratory tract infections due to effective colonization of Streptococcus Salivarius K12;
  • prevention of bacterial complications of respiratory infections caused by bacteria whose growth is inhibited by Streptococcus Salivarius K12;
  • reducing the frequency of infection with common bacterial and viral infections of the upper respiratory tract;
  • reducing the duration and severity of respiratory discomfort.
