The dietary supplement Neuroximet improves cerebral blood circulation, helps increase mental performance, concentration, and memory.
Features
- The effect of the drug is due to the properties of its constituent gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and biologically active substances contained in the extract of the leaves of the medicinal plant Ginkgo biloba.
- The effect of all active components of the drug has been clinically confirmed.
Active substances
- Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is an amino acid found in the central nervous system (CNS) and acts on specific GABA receptors in nerve cells (neurons). Gamma-aminobutyric acid is the main mediator involved in the processes of inhibition in the CNS. Under its influence, energy processes in the brain improve, as well as the utilization of glucose by the latter, oxygen consumption by tissues increases, and blood supply normalizes. Gamma-aminobutyric acid has a mild nootropic effect and improves the dynamics of nervous processes in the brain: it increases concentration, improves thinking, memory, accelerates the recovery of movements and speech after cerebral circulation disorders, and has a mild psychostimulating effect.
- Ginkgo biloba leaf extract has a complex chemical composition, including more than 40 active components and has a multifaceted effect on the body. Flavonoids and terpenes contained in ginkgo biloba leaf extract normalize the tone of blood vessels and reduce platelet aggregation, normalize microcirculation and rheological properties of blood, improving cerebral and coronary blood flow; reduce the permeability of the vascular wall, have an anti-edema effect at the level of both the brain and peripheral tissues. The active components of ginkgo biloba leaf extract have powerful antioxidant properties – they inactivate toxic free radicals and inhibit lipid peroxidation (LPO) of cell membranes, as a result of which the process of cholesterol transformation into plaques is slowed down, which subsequently causes narrowing of the lumen of blood vessels. Ginkgo biloba leaf extract normalizes the release of some neurotransmitters and their ability to bind to receptors, prevents age-related decrease in the number of M-cholinoreceptors and a2-adrenergic receptors, thereby significantly improving the conduction of nerve impulses. The complex effect of Ginkgo biloba leaf extract explains its high therapeutic efficacy in a wide range of pathological conditions of the CNS and vascular disorders.
Recommendations for use
Gamma-aminobutyric acid and ginkgo biloba leaf extract, which are part of the drug, are used for active prevention and in complex treatment:
- age-related changes in cerebral vessels, manifested by deterioration of memory and mental abilities;
- dynamic disorders of cerebral circulation;
- dizziness and tinnitus of vascular and involutional origin;
- endogenous depressions, asthenic and anxiety-neurotic states;
- for the prevention of relapses and complications in conditions after cerebral circulation disorders (strokes, traumatic brain injuries, etc.);
- in ophthalmology: as part of complex therapy for vascular diseases of the retina and macula, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, open-angle glaucoma;
- to improve mental performance, concentration, and memory;
- for active prevention of the symptom complex of motion sickness (seasickness).
Composition
1 capsule contains:
- Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) – 250 mg.
- Ginkgo biloba leaf extract – 40 mg.
Excipients (lactose, starch) – 110 mg.
Method of application
Adults – one capsule three times a day 5-10 minutes before meals, washed down with water.
The course of treatment is 30-40 days.
Break – 2 weeks.
If necessary, the course can be repeated.
If prescribed by a doctor, it is possible to use two capsules three times a day, as well as long-term use for 4-6 months.
Precautions
A doctor’s consultation is required before use.
Side effects:
- allergic reactions to individual components of the drug;
- In some cases, in the first days of use, dyspeptic phenomena, fluctuations in blood pressure, a feeling of heat, and sleep disturbances are possible (when the dose is reduced, these phenomena usually pass quickly).
Do not exceed recommended doses.
For people with erosive-ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract (GI) and liver failure, long-term use of the drug is possible only under the supervision of a physician.
When using the drug in unreasonably high doses, dyspeptic phenomena are possible: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (symptomatic treatment, gastric lavage, and administration of enterosorbents are indicated).
There are reports of a possible interaction of ginkgo biloba leaf extract with drugs that affect blood clotting, and of a possible enhancement by gamma-aminobutyric acid of the effects of narcotic analgesics, hypnotics, and anticonvulsants.
It is not a medicine.
Dietary supplements should not be used as a substitute for a complete diet.
Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.
