Traumeel S gel: instructions for use
The complex homeopathic remedy “Traumeel S Gel” has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, immunocorrective, anti-exudative, and reparative effects.
Composition
Traumeel S Gel contains the following medicinal components in varying concentrations:
- Achillea millefolium (tree) D0 — 0.09 g;
- Aconitum napellus (aconite) D1 – 0.05 g;
- Arnica montana (mountain arnica) D3 — 1.5 g;
- Atropa belladonna (belladonna) D1 – 0.05 g;
- Bellis perennis (perennial daisy) D0 — 0.1 g;
- Calendula officinalis (marigold) D0 — 0.45 g;
- Echinacea (echinacea) D0 — 0.15 g;
- Echinacea purpurea (purple echinacea) D0 — 0.15 g;
- Hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) D0 — 0.45 g;
- Hepar sulfuris (hepar sulfur) D6 — 0.025 g;
- Hypericum perforatum (St. John’s wort) D6 — 0.09 g;
- Matricaria recutita (chamomile) D0 — 0.15 g;
- Mercurius solubilis Hahnemanni (mercurius solubilis) D6 – 0.04 g;
- Symphytum officinale (comfrey) D4 — 0.1 g.
Excipients: carbomers, ethanol 96%, sodium hydroxide, purified water.
Dosage form
Traumeel S gel is a colorless, transparent gelatinous mass from brown to brown-yellow-greenish in color, of a viscous consistency with the smell of ethanol and a sweetish odor.
Pharmacological properties
Due to the multicomponent composition of active substances, the drug has a local analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect in the area of application. It promotes the restoration of damaged tissues. It has immunocorrective and anti-edema properties.
Indications for use
The gel is used to relieve joint pain, to accelerate recovery after injuries (from bruises, contusions, sprains), and to treat inflammatory processes of the musculoskeletal system and skin.
Dosage regimen
The product is intended for external use by adults and children from birth. The gel is applied to the skin surface (affected areas) 1-2 times a day. A dosage of 1 cm strip of gel is sufficient for one use. This amount is able to cover the skin surface with an area of 10 cm2. If necessary and in agreement with the doctor, the frequency of application can be increased. The average duration of treatment is 10 days.
Application features
Do not apply the gel to large areas. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a doctor.
There were no cases of overdose.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding
The decision on the possibility of use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is made by a doctor – in each case individually, after a thorough assessment of the risk-benefit ratio for the woman and the child.
For children
It is used as prescribed by a doctor for children from birth.
Side effects
Side effects develop in rare cases. Hypersensitivity reactions are possible (skin rash, redness, itching, swelling). If undesirable reactions occur, treatment with Traumeel C gel should be discontinued.
Contraindications to use
Contraindications to use are the following reasons:
- individual intolerance to any components of the drug;
- tendency to be allergic to plant components of the product (arnica, chamomile, yarrow or other plants of the Asteraceae family).
Interaction with other drugs
The drug does not affect the pharmacokinetics of other medications. It can be used with other medications.
The medication does not affect the speed of psychomotor reactions, and its use does not constitute a restriction on driving.
Packaging
The gel is in a 50-gram tube with a screw cap, placed in a cardboard pack along with instructions for use.
Storage conditions
Recommended storage temperature: +15 to +25 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
