Linex children’s drops with vitamin D.
Linex Children’s Drops with Vitamin D is a dietary supplement containing 10 mcg (400 IU) of vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) and 1 x 109 CFU* of live lyophilized bacteria Bifidobacterium animalis, lactis, BB-12.
Vitamin D is an essential nutrient and hormone that performs numerous functions in the body. Vitamin D is known for its role in bone, tooth, and muscle health, and it also helps regulate calcium and phosphate levels in the body, which is especially important for children’s development. At the same time, vitamin D is also known to improve the regulation of immune responses and may contribute to the normal functioning of the immune system.
EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) approved recommendations for vitamin D for health:
Bifidobacteria
Bifidobacteria were discovered and isolated from the stool of infants in 1899. Bifidobacteria BB-12 has been used in infant formulas, nutritional supplements and fermented milk products (e.g. yogurt) worldwide since 1986.
Bifidobacteria (probiotic bacteria) are normally present in the gastrointestinal tract. They are part of the normal intestinal microflora. The microflora of breastfed babies mainly consists of these bacteria and their presence is considered important in early childhood because they maintain a healthy acid-base balance necessary for the normal functioning of digestive enzymes, prevent the development of harmful bacteria, affect intestinal motility (peristalsis) and contribute to the normal functioning of the immune system.
The healthy balance of intestinal microflora can be disrupted by a number of factors, such as viral and bacterial intestinal infections (e.g. rotavirus infections), antibiotic treatment, or poor nutrition.
The BB-12 strain has been described in approximately 400 scientific publications and confirmed in more than 200 publications describing clinical studies. According to scientific studies, BB-12 has been found to have a positive effect on gastrointestinal health and immunity. The BB-12 strain has been tested on a large number of people of different age groups, including premature babies and the elderly, and testing was carried out for various areas of health care.
Laboratory studies have shown that the BB-12 strain is well preserved in both gastric acid solution at pH 2.5 and in a 1% solution of porcine bile. These characteristics allow the probiotic strain to survive passage through the gastrointestinal tract. (Reference: Data from the Development Department of the Human Health Division of Chr. Hansen).
BB-12 Strain:
In 2007, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) granted Bifidobacterium animalis QPS (Qualified Presumption of Safety) status – a status granted at the species level.
The microbiota of babies born vaginally differs from those born by cesarean section, and whether the baby is breastfed or formula-fed also plays a role.
Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis BB 12 is included in the clinical recommendations of the European Association of Pediatricians, Hepatologists and Nutritionists, as well as the recommendations of the Polish Association of Neonatologists.
Adding BB-12 bifidobacteria, which are part of Linex Children’s Drops with Vitamin D, to the diet is useful for maintaining the physiological balance of intestinal microflora, as well as restoring its natural balance.
Infants and children under 12 years of age: 6 drops once daily, preferably with meals.
Adults and children over 12 years: 12 drops once daily, preferably with meals
The recommended daily intake of vitamin D should not exceed the upper tolerable intake limits.
Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.
Before use, the contents of the bottle should be shaken to form a suspension. Shake until the powder at the bottom of the bottle is evenly mixed with the oil – this will result in a cloudy mixture (suspension). Measure 6 or 12 drops into a spoon. The drops can be added to milk/liquid food once a day. To prevent inactivation of bacteria, the drops should not be added to hot drinks.
Linex Children’s Drops with Vitamin D are recommended to be used from the beginning of taking the antibiotic, but no earlier than 3 hours after taking the antibiotic.
For safety reasons, Linex Children’s Drops with Vitamin D should not be used if:
Dietary supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced diet.
It is recommended to consult a doctor before consumption.
