Ectoine is a natural substance produced by microorganisms living in extreme conditions (for example, in salt lakes). To protect themselves from such extreme conditions, these microorganisms produce the natural substance ectoine, the special properties of which are used in Hylo-DUAL.

Ectoine enhances the binding of water by cells of the surface of the eye, which contributes to the formation of a physiological barrier on the cornea, protecting it from substances with an allergenic effect. At the same time, ectoine stabilizes the lipid layer of the tear film, which protects the eyes from excessive evaporation of tears.

The interaction of sodium hyaluronate and ectoine provides intensive long-term hydration of the eye surface and protects them from tear evaporation. Hylo-DUAL relieves typical symptoms – itching and burning sensation, which are observed in inflammatory reactions to irritating stimuli in the environment, as well as in allergic reactions.

Usually, adults and children aged 6 years and older are instilled with 1 drop of Hylo-dual 3 times a day in the conjunctival sac of each eye. With more frequent use (for example, more than 10 times a day) or in case of more serious complaints, regular consultation with an ophthalmologist is required.

Hylo-DUAL is suitable for long-term use. However, as with all persistent symptoms, all complaints should be referred to an ophthalmologist if the complaints do not disappear, for example, within 2 weeks.
