Abufene is a drug used in gynecology, indicated for the treatment of hot flashes associated with menopause.
It has a direct effect exclusively on cutaneous peripheral vasodilation, which causes vegetative flushes, feelings of warmth, fever, and headache.
Composition
- active ingredient: 1 tablet contains beta-alanine 400 mg;
- excipients: magnesium stearate, glycerol palmitostearate, colloidal silicon dioxide, wheat starch.
Contraindication
Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug. Increased sensitivity or intolerance to gluten, as the drug contains wheat starch.
Method of application
Abufene is to be used internally. Take 1 to 2 tablets per day (before the main meal). This dose can be increased to 3 tablets per day.
The minimum course of treatment is from 5 to 10 days (until the hot flashes stop).
If hot flashes resume, treatment can be continued throughout the entire period of clinical vasomotor disorders, without any time limit.
Application features
The drug is recommended for use in premenopause, menopause of various etiologies and postmenopausal period, before hormone replacement therapy and in combination with hormone replacement therapy. Unlike other drugs, beta-alanine does not lead to fluid retention and weight gain. No signs of addiction to the drug have been identified. There is no sedative effect. In case of adverse skin reactions (rash, itching), treatment should be discontinued.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
Do not use the drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Children
The drug should not be used in children.
Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms
No effect.
Overdose
No cases of overdose have been noted.
Adverse reactions
There may be isolated cases of the following adverse reactions: paresthesia, usually in the extremities; allergic reactions, including skin and mucous membrane rashes, skin redness, itching, urticaria; bruising.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions
Does not interact with hormones. Can be used in combination with neuroleptics or weak barbiturates.
Storage conditions
Store out of the reach of children at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
