Besalol tablets relieve gastrointestinal spasms in colitis and enterocolitis. Contains belladonna extract and phenylsalicylate.

Besalol tablets are used for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract accompanied by spasms (colitis, enterocolitis).

Composition

One tablet contains (active ingredients):

  • belladonna (belladonna) thick extract (6: 1) (extractant – ethanol 20%) – 10 mg;
  • phenylsalicylate – 300 mg.

Excipients: lactose monohydrate; microcrystalline cellulose; croscarmellose sodium; stearic acid.

Contraindication

  • hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, salicylates and other anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic drugs;
  • glaucoma, prostate adenoma with impaired urine outflow;
  • atrial fibrillation, tachycardia, chronic heart failure, ischemic heart disease, mitral stenosis, severe arterial hypertension;
  • acute bleeding, gastrointestinal bleeding;
  • thyrotoxicosis;
  • hyperthermic syndrome;
  • gastrointestinal diseases accompanied by obstruction (esophageal achalasia, pyloric stenosis, intestinal atony);
  • liver and kidney failure;
  • myasthenia gravis;
  • The drug should not be used if you are prone to allergies, bronchial asthma, or spastic bronchitis.

Method of application

Adults should take one tablet 2-3 times a day.

The maximum daily dose is 6 tablets.

Doses and duration of use are set individually and depend on the course of the disease, its severity, clinical effectiveness of the drug and the nature of therapy (taking the drug separately or in combination with other medications).

Application features

Pregnant women

The use of the drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding is not recommended.

Children

There is no experience with the use of the drug in the treatment of children, therefore the drug should not be used in pediatric practice.

Drivers

During treatment, activities that require increased concentration, rapid mental and motor reactions, and visual acuity (driving vehicles, working with complex mechanisms) should be avoided.

Overdose

Symptoms

In case of a slight overdose – accommodation disorders, difficulty urinating, intestinal atony, headache, dysphagia, thirst, skin rash. In case of a significant overdose – dryness of the skin and mucous membranes, mydriasis, accommodation paralysis, increased intraocular pressure, tachycardia, dizziness, urinary retention, psychomotor agitation, delirium, convulsions. Possible increased manifestations of adverse reactions, vomiting, decreased blood pressure, tremor, drowsiness, hallucinations, irritability, hyperthermia; depression of the central nervous system, suppression of the activity of the respiratory and vascular centers.

Treatment

Drug withdrawal. Symptomatic therapy. Antidote – proserin or physostigmine.

Side effects

On the part of the gastrointestinal tract: feeling of thirst, taste disturbance, dysphagia, decreased intestinal motility up to atony, decreased tone of the biliary tract and gallbladder, constipation, diarrhea.

Cardiac disorders: palpitations; tachycardia; arrhythmia, including extrasystole; myocardial ischemia.

Vascular disorders: facial flushing, hot flushes.

Neurological disorders: dry mouth, headache, dizziness, nervousness, insomnia, psychomotor agitation, seizures.

On the part of the organs of vision: increased intraocular pressure, mydriasis, photophobia, paresis/paralysis of accommodation, temporary visual disturbances.

From the urinary system: urinary retention, difficulty urinating.

On the part of the respiratory system and mediastinal organs: a decrease in secretory activity and bronchial tone, which leads to the formation of viscous sputum, which is difficult to cough up.

Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: allergic reactions, skin rashes, urticaria, exfoliative dermatitis, hyperemia.

Immune system disorders: hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylactic reactions, anaphylactic shock, asthma.

If any unusual reactions occur, you should definitely consult a doctor regarding further use of the drug.

Storage conditions

Store in the original packaging at a temperature of 2°C to 8°C, out of the reach of children.
