Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics.

Fluconazole is an antifungal agent of a new class of triazole compounds, a powerful selective inhibitor of sterol synthesis in fungal cells.

Its activity has been demonstrated in such fungal infections as Candida spp. (Including systemic candidiasis in animals with suppressed immunity), Cryptococcus neoformans (including intracranial infections); Microsporum spp. and Tychophyton spp.

Locally, fluconazole is used as an agent with a broad antifungal spectrum of action.

Its activity against dermatophytes and yeasts is shown. Fluconazole is a highly specific cytochrome P450-dependent fungal enzyme. It inhibits the enzyme lanosterol-C-14-demethylase, which converts lanosterol into a sterol present in the mushroom membrane, that is, ergosterol.

Pharmacokinetic studies of Fusys gel showed that the levels of fluconazole in the blood plasma are so low that the systemic effect of the drug is excluded.

Pharmacokinetics.

Pharmacokinetic studies of Fusys gel have not been conducted in children, but studies involving adults have shown that the drug is systemically absorbed very little.

Studies conducted to assess skin tolerance and phototoxicity have shown that in humans Fusys gel is well tolerated by the skin and is not phototoxic.

Indication

Dermatomycoses caused by yeasts and dermatophytes, namely: athlete’s foot, ringworm of smooth skin, inguinal ringworm, lichen planus, infections caused by candida.

Application

The drug is applied once a day, gently rubbing into and around the affected areas of the skin. on internal areas, the gel should be applied in a small amount and rubbed well over the entire affected surface to avoid maceration.

The duration of treatment for infectious etiologies varies, but 1-3 weeks of treatment is usually sufficient for most patients to recover.

In particular, the treatment period for resistant forms can be increased to 6 weeks. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to fluconazole or azole compounds close to it in chemical structure or to any of the excipients of the drug.

Side effects

From the side of the immune system: hypersensitivity reactions.

From the side of the skin: skin irritation.

Special instructions

The use, especially long-term, of drugs for external use, including Fusys, can lead to sensitization and side effects. in this case, it is necessary to stop treatment and consult a doctor.

Fusys gel is not used in ophthalmology.

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the drug is used only when the expected benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus or child.

Interactions
