Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics. The patented hibiscus extract, which determines the pharmacological properties of the drug, is a source of organic acids (citric, succinic, pyrocatechin, hibiscus), vitamins, polysaccharides, bioflavonoids, which determine the bacteriostatic effect of the drug Aflazin against most pathogens of urinary tract infections (staphylococcus spp., streptococcus spp., enterococcus faecalis, escherichia coli, enterobacter spp., candida spp., etc.). It has anti-inflammatory, anti-edematous effects, exhibits an anti-adhesive effect, which makes it impossible for microorganisms to adhere (stick) to the walls of the urinary tract, their development and reproduction. Prevents the development of dysuric phenomena.

Indication
As part of complex therapy for acute and chronic infections of the bladder (cystitis) and kidneys (pyelonephritis), for asymptomatic bacteriuria, including in pregnant women. chronic non-infectious kidney diseases (glomerulonephritis, interstitial nephritis), prevention of urinary tract infections, including after instrumental examinations (endoscopic, X-ray and gynecological examinations).
Prevention of the formation of urinary stones, including after their removal.
Application
Adults and children over 12 years of age should take 1 capsule 2 times a day, regardless of meals. Children aged 6-12 years – 1 capsule 1 time a day. The duration of use is determined by the doctor individually depending on the severity of the disease. The recommended duration of use for acute inflammation of the urinary tract and exacerbation of chronic diseases is 4-6 weeks. For preventive purposes, the course of use is 2-4 weeks.
Children. The drug is used in children over 6 years of age.
Contraindication
Individual hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug.
Side effects
Allergic reactions to the components of the drug are possible.
Special instructions
Since the drug contains lactose, it should not be used in patients with rare hereditary forms of galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome.
Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Use of the drug in the first trimester of pregnancy is possible only on doctor’s prescription. Use of the drug during pregnancy, starting from the second trimester, as well as during breastfeeding does not require additional consultation with a doctor.
Effect on the ability to drive vehicles or other mechanisms. No effect.
Interactions
Clinically significant drug interactions with other drugs have not been established. Aflazin can be used in combination with antibiotics and other antimicrobial agents.
Overdose
Cases of drug poisoning due to overdose are unknown.
