Children’s nasal spray with proven effectiveness against pathogens of upper respiratory tract infections. Used for rhinitis, nasopharyngitis and sinusitis
Pharmacodynamic parameters. Framycetin is a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic for topical use. The action of framycetin disrupts the synthesis of proteins vital for the functioning of the bacterial cell, which leads to the death of the microorganism.
Topical therapy with framycetin creates concentrations that have a bactericidal effect directed at both gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms – pathogens of upper respiratory tract infections.
Sensitivity to framycetin has been established for corynebacteria, Branhamella catarrhalis, methicillin for staphylococci, acinetobacter (mainly Acinetobacter baumanii), Escherichia coli, campylobacter, representatives of the genus Citrobacter (Citrobacter freundii, Citrobacter koseri), enterobacteria (Enterobacter aerogenes, Enterobacter cloacae), pathogens of listeriosis, hemophilic infection, proteoses (Proteus mirabilis, Proteus vulgaris, Morganella morganii, Providencia rettgeri); Klebsiella, Salmonella, Shigella, Yersinia and Serratia are also sensitive.
Framycetin has moderately pronounced activity against pasteurellosis pathogens.
Enterococci, streptococci, methicillin-resistant staphylococci (mostly hospital strains), Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Nocardia asteroides, flavobacteria, Alcaligenes denitrificans, Providencia stuartii, Burkholderia, Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, chlamydia, mycoplasma, rickettsia, as well as bacteria that do not require oxygen for their vital activity are resistant to framycetin.
