Vitamin E in the form of α-tocopherol is a lipid antioxidant that protects polyunsaturated lipids of cell membranes from free radical attack. In addition, vitamin E participates in the formation and stabilization of so-called lipid rafts – complexes of lysophospholipids and free fatty acids. The antioxidant properties of vitamin E are most clearly manifested in the liver, where this vitamin participates in the elimination of morphological changes of various etiologies.

Vitamin B12 and folic acid can prevent the progression of fatty liver disease.

Vitamin B6 is also a cofactor in fat metabolism, a deficiency of which correlates with the development of fatty liver disease.

High levels of vitamin B1 and B2 intake in postmenopausal women are associated with a lower risk of fatty liver disease.
