NO-SPA is an antispasmodic that eliminates spasm of smooth muscles and helps to eliminate pain caused by spasm.
Drotaverin, which is the active substance of the drug, relieves spasm of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal, biliary, genitourinary, and vascular systems. Increases blood circulation in tissues due to its ability to expand blood vessels. Effectively acts on spasm of smooth muscles of both nervous and muscular origin.
Advantages
Antispasmodic agents affect smooth muscles and eliminate pain caused by spasm. Antispasmodic drotaverine is used in gastroenterology, therapy, urology and gynecology in many countries of the world.
- Gastroenterology. In this area, the drug is prescribed for spastic pain accompanying biliary tract pathology – gallstone disease, acute or chronic cholecystitis, cholangitis, etc.
- Urology. Inflammatory processes in the urinary organs (cystitis, pyelitis) can also lead to spasms, so the use of drotaverin in these diseases is fully justified.
- Tension headaches. Drotaverin can also be used to treat tension headaches, as in this case there are muscular and vascular components.
The favorable safety profile has been confirmed by numerous clinical studies.
