Phytolyte is a medicinal product containing herbal ingredients used for the treatment and prevention of urinary tract diseases such as cystitis, pyelonephritis, urolithiasis, and prostatitis. It has a diuretic, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic effect.

Dosage form:

Capsules.

Hard gelatin capsules of green color. The contents of the capsule are a mixture of granules and powder from light brown to dark brown with a greenish tint. The company’s trademark – ZT – may be applied to the capsule.

Phytolith forte has antispasmodic, diuretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects, antimicrobial and antiseptic properties, regulates mineral metabolism. Reduces the frequency and intensity of renal colic, normalizes the physicochemical parameters of urine, leads to the restoration of optimal urodynamics and urine homeostasis, reduces leukocyturia. Promotes the washing out of sand and small stones, prevents the increase in stones or the appearance of new ones. Phytolith forte has a positive effect on the state of spermatogenesis in conditions of experimental prostatitis (the concentration of spermatozoa increases, the duration of spermatozoa movement and the percentage of motile forms increase, the number of pathologically altered spermatozoa decreases, acid and osmotic resistance changes in a positive direction).

Indications for use.

Treatment and prevention of urolithiasis (presence of primary and recurrent stones of various sizes and locations in the kidneys and ureters); complications caused by the passage of stone fragments after shock wave lithotripsy; renal colic; prevention of the formation of urinary calculi after their surgical removal and/or spontaneous exit; in complex supportive therapy of chronic inflammatory diseases of the lower urinary tract (cystitis, urethritis) and chronic prostatitis.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Glomerulonephritis. Pregnancy and breastfeeding. Children under 12 years of age.

Special precautions.

Phytolit forte can be used in combination with antimicrobial agents. If the side effects listed below occur, the drug should be taken after meals, but its administration should not be discontinued. To facilitate the passage of stones, it is recommended to drink plenty of water (1.5-2 liters) within 2-3 hours.

In the presence of severe pyuria in patients with urolithiasis, the appointment of antimicrobial agents is indicated.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

The drug is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

The ability to influence the reaction rate when driving vehicles or other mechanisms is unknown.

Children.

The drug is contraindicated in children under 12 years of age.

Method of application and doses.

In case of urolithiasis, adults and children over 12 years of age take Phytolyte forte before meals, 1 capsule 3 times a day. The duration of the treatment course is 20-30 days.

After a break, the course of treatment can be repeated.

In order to prevent recurrence of kidney and ureteral stone formation after shock wave lithotripsy, Phytolyte forte is prescribed 1 capsule 3 times a day for 5-15 days, and after surgical removal of stones and/or their spontaneous passage, 1 capsule 3 times a day for 1-2 months. For renal colic in adults, Phytolyte forte is prescribed 1 capsule after eliminating the pain syndrome with painkillers.

In chronic cystitis, urethritis and prostatitis, Phytolyte forte is used 1 capsule 3 times a day for 21-28 days. The course can be repeated after 2 weeks. The number of courses of treatment is determined by the doctor depending on the patient’s condition.

If it is necessary to prescribe the drug in small doses, for example in patients with chronic pyelonephritis, you can switch to taking Phytolyte tablets.

Overdose.

No toxic effects of the drug have been observed. With a single intake of more than 10 capsules, the manifestations of the described side effect may be increased. In case of overdose, gastric lavage and administration of activated charcoal are recommended.

Side effects.

Phytolyte forte is well tolerated by patients and usually does not cause side effects. Mild dyspeptic symptoms are possible in the form of nausea and discomfort in the epigastric region, vomiting, diarrhea.

In people with hypersensitivity, allergic reactions (redness, rash, itching) may occur.
