Flucold-N tablets 200 pieces

Flucold-N is a combined drug designed to relieve cold and flu symptoms. The tablets contain paracetamol (500 mg), chlorpheniramine maleate (2 mg), caffeine (30 mg) and phenylephrine hydrochloride (5 mg).

Each of these active ingredients contributes: paracetamol reduces fever and reduces pain, caffeine stimulates the nervous system and increases performance, phenylephrine reduces swelling and congestion of the nasal passages, and chlorphenamine blocks histamine receptors and reduces allergic manifestations in the respiratory tract.

Since Flucold-N combines several pharmacological effects at once, it allows you to simultaneously combat various symptoms. Paracetamol provides an analgesic and antipyretic effect, eliminating aches and high body temperature. Phenylephrine actively fights a runny nose, narrowing the vessels of the nasal mucosa, and chlorpheniramine reduces swelling and mucus secretion, and also relieves allergic manifestations. The presence of caffeine reduces fatigue and drowsiness, characteristic of taking antihistamines. Thus, Flucold-N provides simultaneously antipyretic, analgesic, vasoconstrictor and antihistamine effects, which favorably distinguishes it from drugs with a single active ingredient.

Flucold-N tablets: round, uncoated, pink tablets with dark pink inclusions.

One tablet contains paracetamol 500 mg, caffeine 30 mg, phenylephrine hydrochloride 5 mg and chlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg.

Tablets (over 12 years): 1 tablet orally every 3-4 hours, but no more than 4 tablets per day. The interval between doses is at least 4 hours. The maximum duration of the course without consulting a doctor is 3 days. The tablets are washed down with a small amount of water.

When using Flucold, it is important to avoid taking other medications containing paracetamol at the same time – this can lead to overdose and an increased risk of side effects. It is recommended to take the powder after a meal to reduce the risk of stomach irritation. If symptoms persist for more than 3-5 days or recur, you should consult a doctor.

The drug is contraindicated in case of individual intolerance to any of the components, as well as in the following conditions:

Pregnancy and lactation: Flucold-N is not prescribed to women during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Age: children under 12 years old (both types of Flucold).

Severe diseases: severe cardiovascular diseases (ischemia, heart failure, arrhythmias), arterial hypertension, history of stroke or heart attack, severe atherosclerosis, bronchial asthma, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, acute pancreatitis, gastric/duodenal ulcer, prostate adenoma with difficulty urinating, glaucoma.

Metabolic disorders: glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, hereditary disorders of phenylalanine metabolism (aspartame in the powder), lactose or sorbitol intolerance.

Patients with severe liver or kidney disease, diabetes, states of increased arousal, epilepsy and sleep disorders should use Flucold with caution. It is not recommended for people who abuse alcohol (to avoid increased hepatotoxicity of paracetamol).

Due to the content of chlorpheniramine, Flucold may cause drowsiness and decreased concentration. Therefore, during treatment, you should avoid driving and working with dangerous mechanisms. You should not combine the drug with alcohol and other sedatives.

Before taking Flucold-N, consult your doctor if you are taking anticoagulants (e.g. warfarin), diuretics or other medications. Your doctor will also assess the appropriateness of using Flucold for long-term treatment or if you need to take painkillers frequently.

Immune system:

• allergic reactions;
• skin itching, rash (often in the form of hives or red spots);
• swelling of the face and mucous membranes (angioedema);
• severe forms of allergy – erythema multiforme (including Stevens-Johnson syndrome), toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell’s syndrome),
• anaphylaxis.

Nervous system:

• headache, dizziness, insomnia or, conversely, drowsiness;
• irritability, anxiety, fear, agitation, confusion, disorientation;
• hallucinations, depression, tremors, seizures, behavioral changes, general weakness.

Respiratory system:

• bronchospasm (especially in those sensitive to aspirin and other NSAIDs).

Organs of vision:

• blurred vision, difficulty focusing, dilated pupils, dry eyes, increased pressure inside the eyes.

Digestive system:

• nausea, vomiting, heartburn, dry mouth, abdominal pain, flatulence, diarrhea or constipation, decreased appetite, exacerbation of peptic ulcer disease.

Liver and biliary tract:

• temporary increase in liver enzymes, sometimes without symptoms;
• at high doses – toxic liver damage up to necrosis.

Endocrine system:

• decrease in blood sugar levels (in severe cases, hypoglycemic coma).

Hematopoiesis:

• anemia (including hemolytic);
• decreased platelet and leukocyte levels, agranulocytosis, pancytopenia;
• hematopoietic disorders (may manifest as blue lips, shortness of breath, heart pain);
• the appearance of bruises or hemorrhages.

Urinary system:

• urination disorders (pain, delay, difficulty);
• kidney inflammation, pain, toxic kidney damage.

Cardiovascular system:

• increased blood pressure, rapid heartbeat or, conversely, slowing down the pulse;
• arrhythmias, pain in the heart area, shortness of breath.
