Composition

  • crystalline iodine,
  • potassium nitrate,
  • ferric chloride,
  • starch;
  • incendiary mixture.

Pharmacological properties

Iodine, which is part of the drug, has a wide range of antimicrobial action against pathogens of infectious diseases of bacterial, viral and fungal etiology. During thermal sublimation, iodine vapors are formed, which have a high penetrating ability and have a sanitizing effect on the air of livestock premises and the respiratory tract of animals and birds.

Indications for use

For the treatment of respiratory diseases of farm animals (cattle, pigs and poultry), aerosol preventive and forced (current and final) disinfection of livestock and poultry premises, animal care facilities, as well as for air sanitation of premises in the presence of animals (cattle, pigs and poultry).

Method of administration and doses

The active ingredient is iodine in the form of vapor and aerosol, which is released when the powder burns. The powder easily ignites from an external ignition source and burns without a flame, emitting thick brown-violet smoke containing vapor and aerosol of iodine. One package weighing 100 gr. releases 38 -38.5 g of iodine, which is evenly distributed throughout the volume of the room.

When processing, place the calculated amount of the Iodine Vapor Generator in several places on the floor surface on fireproof supports (brick, concrete, etc.) 1-4 packages with powder. Shake each package well, free it from the outer packaging bag, carefully open the foil and wrap it in the form of a trough, which will contain the package with the generator and the package with the incendiary mixture (or wick). Set it on fire using an ignition strip or a package with the incendiary mixture. During combustion, iodine vapors from purple to light brown are formed. Uniform distribution of vapors throughout the volume of the room occurs due to convection air flows.

In infectious and non-infectious respiratory diseases (laryngotracheitis, infectious bronchitis, aspergillosis, infectious rhinotracheitis, bronchitis and bronchopneumonia of calves and piglets), the treatment is carried out in three cycles per month. One cycle consists of one treatment per day for 5-7 consecutive days at an iodine vapor concentration of 20 mg / m 3 with a subsequent 5-7 day break. Exposure 30 min.

For air sanitation (prevention of respiratory diseases) in the presence of animals (cattle, pigs or poultry), the concentration of iodine vapor should be 10 mg / m 3 . The treatment is carried out in 3 cycles per month. One cycle consists of one treatment per day for 3 consecutive days with a break of 7 days. Exposure 30 min.

Disinfection of livestock and poultry facilities is carried out in the absence of animals, including birds, at an ambient temperature of not lower than 15 ° C and a relative humidity of not lower than 60%. Before disinfection, the premises are sealed: windows, doors, exhaust hatches are closed, ventilation is turned off. The concentration of iodine vapors should be 30 mg / m in the air of the treated room. Disinfection exposure is 12 hours.

Disinfectant concentration of iodine – 200 mg / m 3 . It is used

  • 1 package (10.0 g) per 20 m 3 ,
  • 1 package (50.0 g) per 100 m 3 ,
  • 1 package (100.0 m) per 200 m 3 .

Sanitizing concentration (for the prevention of respiratory diseases) – 10 mg / m 3 . It is used

  • 1 package (10.0 g) per 400 m 3 ,
  • 1 package (50.0 g) per 2000 m 3 ,
  • 1 package (100.0 m) per 4000 m 3 .

For the treatment of bronchopulmonary diseases, the iodine concentration is 20 mg/m 3 . It is used

  • 1 package (10.0 g) per 200 m 3 ,
  • 1 package (50.0 g) per 1000 m 3 ,
  • 1 package (100.0 m) per 2000 m 3 .

For effective use as a disinfectant, the premises must be cleaned and washed, as the presence of organic and other contaminants reduces the disinfection effect of the Iodine Vapor Generator. When carrying out forced measures using the Iodine Vapor Generator in the presence of animals and poultry, daily treatment of all livestock on the site is necessary to prevent the spread of infection.

It is prohibited to treat animals and poultry with an iodine vapor generator one day before vaccination, on the day of vaccination and the day after vaccination. Carrying out preventive and therapeutic measures using an iodine vapor generator in the presence of animals and poultry must be carried out with the ventilation of the room turned off, doors and windows closed. Exposure for 30 minutes from the moment of thermal sublimation. At an external air temperature above 25 degrees Celsius, the exposure should be 20 minutes. At an external temperature above 30 degrees Celsius, chickens up to 10 days of age and animals up to 15 days of age can be treated. If it is necessary to treat livestock of animals and poultry during high daytime temperatures, preventive and therapeutic measures must be postponed to the early morning hours. After the end of the exposure period, the premises are ventilated for 30 minutes, after which the entry of service personnel and the introduction of animals is allowed.

Equipment, feeders and areas of surfaces accessible to animals are washed with water. Metal surfaces are sprayed with 1% sodium thiosulfate solution to prevent corrosion. 1% sodium thiosulfate solution is used as a neutralizer.

Contraindication

Individual sensitivity to the components of the drug.
