“Traumeel S” is a drug for the treatment of degenerative lesions of the musculoskeletal system, as well as acute and chronic diseases of the musculoskeletal and dental apparatus, inflammatory skin conditions (mostly after injuries), osteochondrosis. Eliminates pain and inflammation. Has contraindications, before use it is worth consulting a doctor.

“Traumeel S” is a multicomponent complex drug. It contains the following active ingredients:

• Achillea millefolium (tree) D3 — 2.2 mg;
• Aconitum napellus (aconite) D2 — 1.32 mg;
• Arnica montana (mountain arnica) D2 — 2.2 mg;
• Atropa belladonna (ordinary belladonna) D2 — 2.2 mg;
• Bellis perennis (perennial daisy) D2 — 1.1 mg;
• Calendula officinalis (marigold) D2 — 2.2 mg;
• Echinacea (echinacea) D2 — 0.55 mg;
• Echinacea purpurea D2 — 0.55 mg;
• Hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) D1 — 0.22 mg;
• Hepar sulfuris (hepar sulfur) D6 — 2.2 mg;
• Hypericum perforatum (St. John’s wort) D2 — 0.66 mg;
• Matricaria recutita (chamomile) D3 — 2.2 mg;
• Mercurius solubilis Hahnemanni (mercurius solubilis) D6 – 1.1 mg;
• Symphytum officinale (comfrey) D6 — 2.2 mg.

Excipients: sodium chloride, water for injections.

The solution for injection is a colorless, clear, odorless liquid, practically free from particles.

“Traumeel S” solution is a complex homeopathic preparation. It has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, immunocorrective, and anti-edema effects. It accelerates tissue repair processes after damage.

The injection form of treatment with the drug “Traumeel S” is prescribed as part of complex therapy in the following cases:

• tissue damage due to household or sports injuries (bruises, dislocations, fractures, sprains, hematomas, concussion);
• osteochondrosis;
• chronic and acute inflammatory diseases of the musculoskeletal system and joints (arthritis, shoulder-scapular periarthritis, tendovaginitis, bursitis).

Traumeel S solution is also used in dentistry to treat diseases of the dentofacial apparatus (periodontal disease, periodontitis, gingivitis).

The recommended dosage depends on the patient’s age. Single dose for injection:

• children under 1 year old – 0.4 ml;
• children 1–3 years old — 0.6 ml;
• children 3–6 years old — 1 ml;
• children 6–12 years old — 1.5 ml;
• adults and children over 12 years old – 2.2 ml.

A single dose is administered 1–3 times a week as intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal or periarticular injections, as well as into acupuncture points. The duration of the treatment course is from 2 to 4 weeks.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding

Traumeel S injections during pregnancy and breastfeeding are prescribed with caution as directed by a doctor (only if the benefit to the mother may be higher than the potential risks to the child).

For children

The drug is recommended for use in children from infancy. Use is allowed only after consultation with a doctor.

The drug is usually well tolerated, but in very rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions (up to anaphylactic shock) may occur in individuals with hypersensitivity to plants of the Asteraceae family (e.g. Arnica, Chamomilla, Achillea millefolium). Temporary reactions at the injection site may occur, including hyperemia, edema and pain. In very rare cases, allergic manifestations, hypersalivation, hyperemia, edema, rash, itching, urticaria occur. In such cases, the drug should be discontinued.

After using drugs containing Echinacea extracts, there were reactions from the digestive tract (nausea, abdominal pain), sleep and menstrual disorders, acne, skin rash, itching, hives, agitation; in isolated cases – facial swelling, difficulty breathing (shortness of breath), dizziness and decreased blood pressure.

Traumeel injections are contraindicated in the following cases:

• hypersensitivity to the composition of the drug;
• allergic reactions to the herbal components of the medicinal product (to plants of the Asteraceae family – arnica (Arnica montana), yarrow (Achillea millefolium), chamomile (Matricaria recutita) or other plants);
• diseases of autoimmune origin, as well as those associated with immunodeficiencies (HIV, AIDS);
• multiple sclerosis;
• diseases caused by changes in connective tissue;
• tuberculosis;
• diseases of the blood system;
• leukemia;
• immunosuppression or immunodeficiency of various etiologies and other chronic viral diseases.

Concomitant use with other drugs and medications is permitted. No overdose has been reported.

Solution for injection in colorless glass ampoules of 2.2 ml. Each piece has a dot and a notch. Ampoules “Traumeel S” are packed in contour cell packaging made of plastic. One blister (5 ampoules) is placed in one cardboard pack together with instructions for use.
